We have a very strange story regarding our 10+ year old swing top bin which lost it’s swing top many year ago :-)

We’ve been using the bin in the kitchen for recyclable rubbish: plastic, paper etc… A while back I sprayed a smiley face on the bin in luminous green paint: thought it would give Marie a smile (which it did).

We regularly left the bin on the back garden to air overnight and one night it went missing!!!

Replaced the bin with an old toys tub (also blue) and forgot about it.

Few weeks later we went shopping at Skegness Morrisons supermarket to find our swing top bin on the main path to Morrisons:

It was half filled with rubbish from shoppers.

The bin is really old and cracked down one side (on it’s last legs) so we left it there (we live across the road from the supermarket). We named the bin Rodney and wondered about Rodney’s travels.

We assume someone stole the bin from our garden and as they got away with their swag realised it was broken so dumped it near Morrisons.

Though you never know, could have gone on a more exciting journey before finding itself at the supermarket.

Reasonably confident Morrisons doesn’t go around pilfering bins from peoples gardens, so we’ve ruled that one out :-)

Every time we shop at Skegness Morrisons we look out for Rodney. Someone is emptying him, so happy to see our old swing top bin in use.
